This learning series comprises of three lessons.
This course is developed using the Micro Focus Adoption Readiness Tool (ART). ART content provides easy access to self-paced learning content enabling users to not only dive into an online course but also to gain direct access to individual components to quickly master specific tasks.
This lesson provides an understanding of the key functionalities of Network Node Manager i (NNMi), along with the SNMP and ICMP Configuration to be performed to enable discovery of network devices using NNMi. You will learn to configure SNMP and ICMP protocol settings in NNMi to enable communication with network devices for status polling, device monitoring and performance data collection. You then discover network devices and populate the NNMi Inventory both using manual loading of nodes using Seed files, and auto-discovery of devices using the Spiral Discovery mechanism.
As an NNMi Operator, you need to perform daily operations and maintenance activities to manage your network. In this lesson, you will learn how to access the NNMi console and manage the workspaces, navigate dashboards and network maps, and access device object details for interfaces, cards and ports. You will also learn how to view and manage incidents to quickly detect, isolate, and troubleshoot abnormal network behavior and perform troubleshooting operations.
As an NNMi Operator, you need to simplify the management of nodes within the inventory and also generate performance reports. You need to group devices into node groups based on operator-defined criteria, and then define device filters for automatic population of nodes into the groups created. You will use the built-in integration between NNMi and the iSPI for Performance module to generate performance reports using the data collected in NNMi. You will learn to launch the iSPI Console, navigate its workspace to run component and interface reports, and analyze device and network performance data for proactive monitoring.
