What's new

The MP for AWS introduces the following features:

  1. RBA for AWS RDS Aspect and AWS Generic RBA Aspect

AWS RDS RBA Aspects enables you to discover and monitor Relational Database Service (RDS) if we have deployed the MP for AWS on a cloud. It consists of:

  • AWS RDS Event log RBA Aspect - To collect and forward the AWS RDS events to OBM, based on roles, through RBA.
  • AWS RDS Health RBA Aspect - To monitor the health of RDS on Cloud
  • AWS RDS Discovery RBA Aspect - To discover RDS instance through RBS

2. Region-based monitoring

AWS Generic enables you to monitor specific regions of your choice. To enable region-based monitoring, we must edit the AWS_GenericRegionsConfiguration policy present in the AWS Generic Aspect and the AWS Generic RBA Aspect.

3. Monitor multiple accounts

AWS Generic enables us to monitor multiple accounts. If the MP for AWS is on a cloud, then we can monitor multiple accounts using the role ARN (Amazon Resource Number) of respective accounts. The benefit of doing this is that we do not have to install Operations Agent on all accounts. We can install Operations Agent on a single EC2 instance and then use it to monitor multiple accounts.

4. Alias name for Account ID

We can now specify an AWS alias name that will be used as the display label of the AWS Account CI.
