Description

OBM Server self monitoring content pack contains a Management Template, Aspects, Policy Templates and Instrumentation for monitoring some areas of an OMi server including the event pipeline, JVM usage, number of users, CI cache usage and the total number of CIs. The Content Pack also includes some example Performance Dashboards.

The OBM server self-monitoring content is now included in OBM since version 2018.11. Therefore, no new versions are planned for ITOM Marketplace.

What’s changed in this version:

  • Fixed defect where the DupNodesCount metric was returning incorrect values: Updated the “OMi RTSM Metrics Collector” policy (version 2.210) and the Duplicate Nodes query in the RTSM.
  • Documented a known issue (QCCR8D103942) and solution when using OBM 2018.05.

You can install this version of the Content Pack on an OBM server that already has version 1.0x or 2.x. You can also install this version of theContent Pack on an OBM server that doesn’t have an earlier version. Supported OBM versions are 10.62 and higher.

Note: This content pack is not supported in an Operations Bridge Suite container deployment.

Note: RTSM metric collection/monitoring is unsupported in OBM 2018.11.

 What’s new in this version:

  • A new policy “OMi Downtime Metrics Collector” logs the number of downtimes, CIs in downtime and downtime utilization.
  • The “OMi RTSM Metrics Collector” policy now collects additional metrics: number of active TQLs, KPIs, HIs, duplicate nodes, rejected nodes and SiteScope monitors with multiple parents.
  • Four new measurement threshold policies generate events if values exceed thresholds: “OMi Downtime Usage”, “OMi RTSM Duplicate Nodes”, “OMi RTSM Rejected Nodes”, “OMi RTSM SiS Monitors with Multiple Parents”.
  • To support this additional monitoring, an RTSM package is now required, and is provided as a separate zip file for installation.
  • The “OMi Event Pipeline Statistics Collector” policy now handles locales where the “,” character is used as the decimal point.
  • A new "OMi RTSM Health - DPS" Performance Dashboard for the DPS shows metrics over time for downtimes, service health capacity and invalid topology.  

You can install this version of the Content Pack on an OBM server that  already has version 1.0x, 2.0 or 2.10.  You can also install this version of the Content Pack on an OBM server that doesn’t have an earlier version.  Supported OBM versions are 10.62 and higher.

  • Support for OMi 10.60 and 10.61.  (If you have OMi 10.1x, use version 1.01 of this self monitoring content pack.)
  • A new "Server Health - DPS" Performance Dashboard for DPS shows the total number of logged in users across all GWs. 
  • The "OMi Event Pipeline Statistics" Performance Dashboard includes new charts: Distribution of Pipeline Messages, Pipeline Latency and Throughput over time, Event Pipeline Steps for most recent messages.  
  • The “OMi Server Summary – DPS” Performance Dashboard includes new charts for the time spent in each EPI Step.  These are titled “Last Time” to show the most recent amount of time spent in each EPI step.  The existing “Average Time” charts show the average time over the life of the event statistics.  This lets you compare most recent performance with performance over a long time period.  
  • The "OMi JVM Heap Metrics Collector" policy now collects JVM statistics for the bus JVM, in addition to the other JVMs.  

You can install this version of the Content Pack on an OMi server that already has version 1.0x.  You can also install this version of the Content Pack on an OMi server that doesn’t have an earlier version.
